The RUT, which stands for the Single Tax Registry (Registro Único Tributario, by its acronym in Spanish), is managed by DIAN.
It serves as the primary way to identify, locate, and categorize individuals and entities who have tax-related obligations under DIAN’s jurisdiction.
It also includes those who are required to register by law or DIAN’s decision, in compliance with existing legal and regulatory guidelines.
