Hello, enthusiasts of customization and automotive adventure!
In my relentless quest to recover lost files, I stumbled upon some screenshots of a memorable project called TwingoNet for Renault! ๐ This was my first major undertaking at the prestigious Toro agency, renowned both in Latin America and globally, also known as Leo Burnett worldwide.
Back in 2008 or 2009, they asked me,
“Do you know how to make a car spin?”
“Of course!” I replied, and thus began the journey of TwingoNet, the platform that allowed for the most creative and unique customization of Twingos. From choosing the color to adding parts and accessories, even applying exclusive “tattoos” available only on the website! โจ
“Customize Your Twingo as You Like” ๐จ
From a plastic blonde with her chihuahua and love for orange to a Mexican “Lucha Libre” wrestling fighter with a blue car full of tattoos. And how about a dominatrix accompanying the car? TwingoNet had it all! ๐ฅ
First Success! Innovative Partnerships ๐
The project was a hit, winning an FWA (Favorite Website Award) and Site of the Day, my first award as a designer! The success was so great that it led Renault to partner with SOHO, the Colombian magazine exclusively for men. Imagine a Twingo with an exclusive tattoo and a model posing in all her splendor. The concept involved a giant woman, destructive rays, and a Twingo resistant to the invasion with yellow stripes representing the mark left by the destructive rays as a trophy. Incredible, right? ๐๐ธ
Version 2, More Modern and Vibrant! ๐ต
Two or three years later, a new version emerged with a modern, underground touch, and full of life. Black replaced white in the interface, and music took center stage, following the vibe of the movie Matrix and nightclubs. TwingoNet was more vibrant than ever! ๐๐ถ
The Game Begins, Xbox 360 ๐ฎ
And that’s not all! A new alliance with Microsoft brought forth a Xbox 360 version. We are talking about Xbox tattoos, green details, and a complimentary Xbox! Imagine the Twingo with a gamer touch. ๐น๏ธ
Promise of a Comeback โณ
Unfortunately, my journey with TwingoNet came to an end. Renault continued its path with another agency, and the last thing I heard was of people designing tattoos for Twingos. The final destination remains a mystery to me. ๐ค
Reviving the Concept ๐
This is not just a memory; it’s a spark that I plan to reignite. My favorite version is the SOHO, but I want to make it even more spectacular. Emphasizing the contrast between the giant woman and the car seems to be the key to creating a more noticeable visual impact.
