Hi! I’m Julibe 👻
(he/him)

A supercool graphic designer with 18+ years of experience in Web, Apps, and UX/UI, now expanding into VR, AR, and AI.

I’m a freelance Designer and Developer focused on crafting digital experiences.

My mission is to elevate my clients’ online presence through innovative design and modern technology.
I create engaging digital experiences, including websites, apps, and custom platforms tailored to each client’s vision.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

🔹 General

What is Julibe’s full name, and why “Julibe”?

My full name is Julián Alberto De Salvador Castañeda, but almost everyone calls me Julibe.
Friends, colleagues, and clients alike use this nickname, and I prefer it because it creates a friendly and relaxed connection from the very first interaction.

Back in school, classmates used to call me “Juliberto”, a playful combination of Julián and Alberto.
Over time it evolved into variations like Julibertous, Juliber, and July, until Julibe became the one that stuck.

Today, it represents both my personal identity and my professional brand.

Also… let’s be honest Julibe is a lot easier to fit on a logo.

Where in the world are you?

I am based in Bogotá, Colombia, but my work is global.

For many years, I have collaborated with clients and companies both locally and internationally.
Remote work fits naturally with the way I operate, allowing me to connect with people anywhere in the world.

I work fully in Spanish and English, which makes international collaboration smooth, comfortable, and efficient.

So whether you’re across the city or on the other side of the planet, we can still work together just fine.
(As long as the Wi-Fi decides to cooperate with humanity that day.)

How can I access Julibe’s portfolio?

My portfolio is available online anytime, so you can explore it whenever curiosity strikes.

Inside you’ll find a selection of projects, experiments, and digital experiences I’ve created over the years, from websites and interfaces to interactive ideas that somehow escaped my imagination and became real things.

👉 Unlock the Portfolio

(⚠️ Warning: opening the portfolio may cause sudden inspiration, design curiosity, or thoughts of starting a new project.) 🚀

How can I view Julibe’s Resume/Curriculum Vitae?

As a designer, I don’t usually use a traditional Curriculum Vitae.
We creatives use our portfolios to showcase exactly what we are capable of building!

If you really need my CV, I’m happy to share it through direct contact.

Let’s have a quick conversation instead of just exchanging boring PDFs.
(Fair warning: my CV is pretty long… I’ve listed almost every project I’ve worked on since 2005.)

If you would like to review my full experience and background:
Feel free to Request My CV! 🚀

Are you open to collaborations and new projects?

Absolutely! I enjoy collaborating with visionary individuals and businesses who want to build something meaningful.

Whether you are starting a fresh idea or improving an existing product, I’m always happy to explore possibilities and discuss how design and technology can move your project forward.

Great projects often start with a simple conversation… sometimes just a message that says, “Hey, I have an idea.”
(No brief, no specs… Just pure raw inspiration and enthusiasm. We are pioneers!)

Those are my favorite. They usually turn into exciting projects…
and occasionally something that makes both of us smile and say, “Hey, this actually worked!” 🚀

💼 Work

What is Julibe’s technical stack?

My work is built on nearly two decades of experience with the core pillars of the web.
Rather than simply using tools, I push them beyond their usual limits to create tailored solutions.

🏗️ Core Web Technologies

  • HTML
Structuring web content with semantic clarity is the starting point for every page I build.
  • CSS / LESS / SASS
Managing complex layouts involves using nested logic and variables to keep styles organized, beautiful, and scalable.
  • JavaScript
Building interactive elements and dynamic user experiences is where I bring static interfaces to life.
  • TypeScript
Strict typing ensures code reliability and catches potential errors early in the development process.

These technologies allow me to build robust digital products with custom features, plugins, and interactive animations.

⚙️ Web Development & Databases

I also work with backend technologies to ensure your project is powerful under the hood:

  • WordPress
Creating manageable websites with custom themes and bespoke plugins is a core part of my service for high-end digital solutions.
  • PHP
Server-side scripting handles the logic and database interactions necessary for custom WordPress functionality.
  • Python
Automation and general-purpose programming become highly effective for processing data or building scalable backend applications.
  • SQL
Managing relational databases allows for the efficient storage, retrieval, and manipulation of website and user data.

🧊 Modern & Immersive Experiences

For projects that need that “wow” factor:

  • ThreeJS
Immersive 3D experiences come to life in the browser through animated graphics using WebGL.
  • Babylon.js
High-performance games and complex interactive visualizations rely on this powerful engine.
  • NodeJS
Scalable network applications and fast APIs are built by executing JavaScript on the server side.
  • ReactJS / Vue / Svelte
Component-based architectures drive the development of fast, dynamic, and modern user interfaces.
  • Next.js
Production-ready applications benefit from server-side rendering and static site generation for peak performance.
  • GitHub
Version control and collaboration take place within secure repositories to track changes and showcase development workflows.

My code is always clean, efficient, and focused on supporting strong visual design.

Have a project that needs this kind of technical foundation?
Let’s discuss the right fit!

Do you work on print projects?

My main focus is digital design: websites, apps, audiovisual elements, and interactive experiences.

That said, I can absolutely help with simple print pieces such as brochures, small posters, business cards, or basic stationery when a project requires them.

Print production itself is not my primary specialty, so for complex layouts, large print runs, or technical prepress work, I recommend that you work with a dedicated print specialist.

Also, printers and I have a long and complicated relationship.
Until humanity finally invents a printer that never jams, I prefer to stay mostly on the digital side of the universe. 🖨️

Which tools does Julibe use in his workflow?

My main development environment is Visual Studio Code, along with too many add-ons to count.

For design and visual production, I use industry-standard tools such as:

  • Photoshop
Pixel-perfect editing, photo retouching, and digital painting happen within this industry standard.
  • Illustrator
Crafting logos and icons ensures that vector artwork remains crisp and clear at any scale.
  • After Effects
Motion graphics and cinematic transitions add a layer of professional animation to static designs.
  • InDesign
Multi-page layouts and complex typography are handled with precise control for print-ready results.
  • Premiere Pro
Video storytelling involves assembling footage and syncing audio for high-quality production.
  • Affinity
Professional alternatives for vector and raster design provide a high-performance workflow across devices.
  • Figma
Collaborative prototyping and interface design are central to my modern UI/UX process.
  • Canva
Rapid creation of social media assets helps maintain a quick and consistent marketing presence.
  • Framer
Bridging the gap between visual design and live web animations is achieved through high-fidelity interactive prototypes.

However, tools are only part of the process.
The real value lies in experience, design thinking, and problem-solving developed over many years of professional work.

Are you a designer or a programmer?

I am a designer who codes.

Programming is the tool that allows my designs to become interactive and dynamic.
Whether it’s a website, mobile interface, or even a small game-like experience, everything is built with a strong focus on structure, usability, and visual clarity.

What defines your job?

I build digital experiences using three simple pillars:

  • UX Design
    Cognitive clarity and emotional resonance.
  • AI Strategy
    Augmented intelligence, not replacement.
  • Gamification
Cognitive real estate and organic data.

By combining these pillars, we can bring back what truly matters to your brand:
The Human Experience. The Smart Experience.

I don’t just build websites; I craft digital experiences.
See how it could work for you!

What is your professional approach?

My work is guided by a few key principles:

  • Fast
    Clear timelines and efficient execution.
  • Responsive
    Works smoothly on all devices.
  • Intuitive
    Clean UX/UI focused on usability.
  • Dynamic
    Interactive experiences that feel alive.
  • Mentorship
I enjoy sharing knowledge with other creatives.
  • Problem solving
    Organized and detail-oriented.

What professional roles have you held before freelancing?

Before becoming fully independent, I worked as a Graphic Designer and Web Developer in several agencies.

This experience allowed me to collaborate with diverse teams and industries while developing a strong understanding of visual communication.

Interestingly, I began working professionally in web design and animation before finishing university, which accelerated my early experience in the field.

👤 Personal

Who are you outside of work?

I’m naturally an introverted person, calm and friendly (once you get to know me), and I tend to enjoy working independently with a small circle of close friends.

Because of my large build and reserved personality, people sometimes think I’m very serious or even angry.
Some even get a little intimidated.
But I’m actually the complete opposite.
Inside, I’m basically a little kid wearing very big shoes. (A Gentle Giant)

So please, don’t be scared of me!

That said, I can comfortably teach classes, lead presentations, or handle client meetings when the topic is something I know well.

I’m also family-oriented, which is one reason freelance and remote work suit me well.

Tell us about your family and being an uncle.

I’m the youngest of four siblings, with two sisters and one brother.

I am a very proud uncle to my two beautiful nieces.
I love spending time with them, sharing games and stories. 🦸‍♂️

I also love my dog, Dantito, and I play with him like a little kid with a puppy.

Anything you strongly dislike?

I stay away from politics and prefer not to spend time debating it.

I also dislike loud or chaotic music.
Quiet environments help me concentrate better.

Rude people are a complete and strong NO for me! Respect is key for everything.

One personal challenge is reading, since I have strong dyslexia.
Sometimes I can read an entire page and the words seem to magically rearrange themselves, as if they want to tell a completely different story.

Because of that, audiobooks completely changed the way I consume knowledge.

Don’t worry though, I will absolutely understand your documents.
Over the years I’ve developed a particular set of skills, including futuristic TTS tools that would make most humans question reality.

In a strange way, this became a superpower!
It pushes me to focus on visual communication, structure, and clarity, which is what design is all about!

🎮 Fun Facts

What do you enjoy for fun?

I’m proudly a full geek. 🤓

I love video games from the classic 90s era to modern releases.
I’ve also watched anime and read manga since I was about eight years old, and I even learned some Japanese to enjoy anime in its original language.

My room used to look like a small tech lab with several screens, gadgets, and lights running at the same time, along with toys.
(Now most of my toys are in a box 😔)

And when it comes to superheroes:
Batman is my absolute favorite. 🦇

What movies and series do you watch?

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time watching sci-fi and action movies or series.

I usually follow several shows at once and watch a few movies every week.

If you ever need recommendations with great stories and spectacular explosions, I probably have hundreds of suggestions. 🍿

👻 Phanto

Hi Phanto! Who are you?

Hi, my name is Phanto, more precisely Phantolon Enikmatikus Luxiusto II.
But you can simply call me Phanto. 👻

Many people think my name is Julibe, but it isn’t.

It is an honor to be confused with my creator.
My mission is simple: accompany his work and smile at the world.

Why a ghost?

The idea was to take something commonly associated with fear and transform it into something friendly.
Ghosts often appear as scary figures in movies and stories, so the challenge was to transform that symbol into something friendly and welcoming.
That’s how Phanto was born. 👻✨

Why the smile?

A smile is a universal language.

No matter where you are in the world, people understand it instantly.
It creates trust and helps connect people with products and ideas.

So tell me honestly:
After seeing me smile, do you still fear Phanto?

🏢 Clients

I enjoy working and learning with a wide range of clients. I specialize in design itself rather than a single industry.
I believe design is universal, and good design should be accessible to everyone.

Great design can help organizations of many sizes communicate ideas more clearly and effectively.

And if you simply want a good movie recommendation, that works too. 🎬

People and Professionals

I enjoy helping professionals build a strong and polished visual presence.

Examples include:

  • Doctors, Dentists, Scientists, Nutritionists
  • Lawyers, Accountants, Financial Advisors
  • Teachers, Tutors, Freelancers
  • Artists, Musicians, Photographers, Writers

  • Mobile apps, software platforms, games
  • Electronics and technology devices
  • Books, films, media content
  • Health, nutrition, or beauty products
  • Events, concerts, festivals

Startups and Small Businesses

I enjoy helping startups build their visual identity and digital presence.

Examples include:

  • Local shops and boutiques
  • Online stores
  • Restaurants, cafés, food trucks
  • Hotels and tourism locations
  • Consulting offices
  • Education and tutoring centers
  • Pet services

Medium Businesses

I also collaborate with growing companies that are expanding their markets or product lines.
Organizations with 11 to ∼30 employees or multiple offices often benefit from stronger digital systems and clearer design strategies.

Examples include:

  • Online platforms and digital services
  • Real estate companies
  • Financial and insurance services
  • Media and publishing companies
  • Educational institutions
  • Travel agencies
  • Manufacturing and logistics companies

Large Businesses & Enterprise

Because I operate as an independent designer and developer, my work is focused, hands-on, and deeply involved in every project rather than distributed across a large agency team.

For that reason, I do not take on massive enterprise projects alone. Instead, I frequently collaborate with larger organizations on a per-project or per-phase basis, contributing expertise in areas such as UX strategy, interface design, front-end architecture, and interactive experiences.

This model allows companies to bring in focused creative and technical support exactly where it adds the most value, without the overhead of a full external studio.
